THORNS ANNOUNCE DEBUT EP ON BROKEN HIVE RECORDS

On June 15th 2012 Thorns will bring their brand of heavy hardcore to the ears of alternative music fans everywhere as they release their debut self-titled EP on Broken Hive Records. Unashamed to carry the mosh tag around their necks, Thorns have exploded onto the Melbourne scene in the last 6 months, pummelling audiences with a standout demo and honest live performance. Channelling the breakdown heavy groove of bands like On Broken Wings and Bury Your Dead, Thorns are setting themselves apart from many bands, playing heavy without the help of sample pads and gimmicks.

Thorns EP was produced and mixed by good friend of the band Lloyd Carroll (Carpathian, Warbrain) at Itchy Brother Studios in Melbourne and mastered by Joe Carra (I Killed The Prom Queen, Blood Duster, 50 Lions). The release is 7 tracks of visceral rage, personal lyrics spat over a barrage of heavy guitars. Staying true to their DIY hardcore background, Thorns look to ignite the country one pit at a time, spreading their music, their message and embracing the community that keeps it all together.

Thorns debut self-titled EP is a statement of intent and June 15th is the day mosh is unleashed on Australia as furious and passionate as it ever was. Broken Hive brings you one of the most exciting new bands in the country, Thorns will dominate in 2012.

imagine someone else’s life having that much of an influence on yours that you put in this much effort in order to try and insult them. you don’t see anyone else scribbling KOTF on their knee in a 5 year old’s hand writing or sticking some crooked piece of metal in their sloppy bellybutton and posting them at you. this world would be a better place without so many filthy leeches who think they’re in a position make these sorts of judgements.
